Neither Ravens... nor Lilies
Take the argument from infinite regression and hold it in the background of your thoughts. Now, sit in the woods until they come back to life. Does it not occur to you that we are neither “ravens: that neither sow nor reap;” nor “lilies of the field”?
If shingled rooves and cemented basements are what make it possible for us to survive then how foreign to this land, indeed this world, we are.

I Am Man
I am Man
My bed is knitted spruce boughs
My skin is smooth and bare
I am not of this world
I am Man
I rule by imagination
The ground, the sea, the air
All creatures of this earth
And everything I own
I am Man
I kill the things I fear
What lives and dies I do not care
My mind is strong I have a soul
I do not have a home
“I am Life and
Death.
You are of Me,
Your mind and soul my loss.
Your life has led you far away
Your death will lead you home”
